Mr. Spy’s 3rd Grade girls class has had a very
busy November! We were so excited for
Lauren’s new College Champions Lesson.
Lauren talked to us and shared her experiences regarding fair play. She focused heavily on how fair play is not
just an important part of sports, but also an integral part of our everyday lives.
Lauren shared a story with our girls detailing an Olympic
athlete who stopped in the middle of a race to help an injured competitor. This really hit home with our girls and they in
turn expressed how amazing it was that the compassion that another individual
displayed was more important than winning.
They continued to reference this by modeling this behavior and their
experiences.
Lauren challenged the girls to create a skit that further
displayed fair play. With this motivation, the girls went right to work on
crafting comic strips that showed their own versions of this. Once completed, it was not long before their
comic strips turned into skits which they rehearsed and video taped.
Lauren also had the chance this month to stop by and help us create our Fair Play stories and skits! We loved having the chance to spend some time with her and ask her so many questions! We even had the chance to play our favorite game "Heads Up, 7Up!" This was another example of the wonderful month we’ve shared with College Champions. Thank you Lauren!
